Dental office construction
Dental clinics built around clinical workflow—not a generic commercial floor plan.
Sangar Construction delivers dental office construction, clinic build-outs and renovations across the GTA and Southwestern Ontario. We coordinate the building, consultants, trades, equipment requirements and finish decisions that must come together before a dental practice can operate efficiently.
Dental construction services
One coordinated path from location review to turnover.
A dental build becomes expensive when the floor plan, equipment, utilities and construction scope are developed in isolation. Our role is to make those interfaces visible early and manage them through execution.
Pre-construction and site review
Review prospective units, existing conditions, servicing, intended operatory count, preliminary layout, approval considerations and major construction risks before commitments harden.
Dental design-build
Coordinate architectural, engineering and construction decisions through one accountable delivery path, with clinical requirements, budget and constructability considered together.
New dental clinic build-outs
Convert commercial units into complete dental practices, coordinating demolition, partitions, ceilings, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, millwork, equipment interfaces and finishes.
Renovations and expansions
Modernize reception areas, operatories, sterilization, support spaces and building systems or expand an existing practice with sequencing based on the actual scope and operating constraints.
Equipment-vendor coordination
Align chair locations, utility rough-ins, clearances, power, data, imaging requirements, cabinetry and installation timing with the selected equipment and vendor information.
General contracting
Manage procurement, trades, schedule, site supervision, inspections, quality control, deficiencies and closeout when the dental project already has completed drawings.
Why dental construction is different
The visible clinic depends on infrastructure patients never see.
Dental offices combine dense servicing, specialized equipment, clinical workflow and a patient-facing environment. Those requirements need to be coordinated before walls close and finishes begin.
Operatories
Chair layouts, working clearances, cabinetry, lighting and utility locations coordinated to the clinical plan.
Clinical plumbing
Water, drainage, air, vacuum and equipment rough-ins planned from vendor information and consultant drawings.
Sterilization
Work surfaces, sinks, equipment, storage and staff movement arranged around the practice’s reprocessing workflow.
Imaging
Spatial, electrical and construction requirements coordinated with the equipment supplier and project professionals.
Patient experience
Reception, waiting, circulation, acoustics and finishes shaped around privacy, comfort and daily durability.
Selected dental projects
Built experience across different dental environments.
Sangar’s completed work includes pediatric and general dental clinics with distinct equipment, workflow, millwork and patient-experience requirements.

Planning the clinic
Resolve the costly questions before construction starts.
The highest-value construction decisions usually happen before mobilization. A well-planned dental office aligns the property, clinical program, equipment, consultants, budget and schedule before they collide on site.
Is the unit suitable?
Review the intended use, landlord requirements, base-building conditions, ceiling space, access and approval path before relying on the location.
Can the services support it?
Assess electrical capacity, plumbing routes, HVAC conditions and other infrastructure that can materially affect feasibility and cost.
How many operatories work?
Balance chair count with reception, sterilization, imaging, staff, storage, circulation and accessible space rather than forcing a target into the wrong footprint.
Has equipment been selected?
Model-specific dimensions, utilities and installation requirements should inform the drawings early enough to avoid field redesign.
Who owns each interface?
Clarify responsibilities among the owner, landlord, consultants, contractor, dental supplier, millworker and technology vendors.
Is the opening date realistic?
Account for design, landlord review, permits, procurement, construction, inspections, equipment installation and owner setup before committing publicly.
Our process
Clarity before construction.
The process is structured to expose risk early, coordinate decisions and keep the project moving toward a clinic ready for equipment, staff and patients.
Define
Confirm the practice model, property status, operatories, equipment, priorities and target timing.
Review
Assess the unit, plans, building services, landlord criteria, consultants and approval path.
Coordinate
Align scope, equipment interfaces, responsibilities, budget framework and construction schedule.
Build
Manage trades, site work, inspections, vendor coordination, quality and project decisions.
Turn over
Close deficiencies and deliver the completed clinic for final owner and equipment setup.
Dental practices
Construction shaped around the type of dentistry delivered.
We plan each project around its actual clinical model. General and family practices, pediatric clinics, orthodontic environments and specialty dental offices can require different chair configurations, imaging, support spaces, patient circulation and equipment interfaces.
The right approach is not to apply one template to every clinic. It is to define how the practice will operate, identify its technical requirements and coordinate the construction around those facts.
Service area

Sangar serves dental practices across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Hamilton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Durham Region, Niagara Region, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding Ontario markets.
Dental construction questions
What to establish before committing to a build.
Every clinic differs, but these are the questions that repeatedly affect feasibility, budget and schedule.
When should a dental contractor become involved?
Before a lease or purchase becomes unconditional whenever possible, and before the design is fully developed. Early construction input can identify servicing, equipment, approval and cost risks while alternatives still exist.
Can Sangar review a potential dental-office location?
Yes. We can review available property information, existing conditions, preliminary fit, servicing and major construction considerations. Formal design and municipal approvals remain separate, but early review can expose obvious risks.
Do you coordinate with dental-equipment suppliers?
Yes. Construction drawings and rough-ins should reflect the selected equipment and supplier requirements. We coordinate the interfaces assigned to construction, including locations, clearances, utilities, cabinetry and installation sequencing.
What affects dental-office construction cost?
Existing conditions, demolition, operatory count, plumbing density, electrical and HVAC capacity, imaging requirements, accessibility work, millwork, finishes, municipal approvals, landlord criteria and schedule pressure all matter. Reliable pricing requires project-specific drawings and scope.
Can an existing dental office remain open during renovations?
Sometimes. Feasibility depends on the scope, layout, building systems, life-safety requirements and acceptable disruption. Phasing may reduce downtime, but it should not be promised until the project is assessed honestly.
Do you provide design-build and general contracting?
Yes. Sangar can coordinate a design-build path or provide general contracting when the owner already has a complete consultant team and permit-ready drawings.
